Traveling Journals

I am participating in a traveling journal swap. We began by sending an empty journal on to the next person on the list. The thought being that each time we receive a journal in the mail we complete a couple pages, then forward it on to someone else. In the end we should receive our journals back with loads of wonderful art and fun facts. This past week I had the opportunity to work in a couple books and send them on their way.

I wish these photos were clearer but it is too late now. Collage art on the first page and Lindy’s Magicals and texture paste on the second. I hope Candy enjoys these when she finally gets her journal back. It may be months before that happens.

The lady this journal belongs to is a dragon lover like me, so I thought she might like a couple prints of some dragons I have drawn and tangled before. The first is watercolored and the second was drawn with technical pens from Zebra Pen and colored with Copic markers. I hope she loves them! I was told prints are just fine to include – I checked first.

This was part of a right-now kind of swap. The recipient will take these Dylusions Ink Spray pages that I tangled and adhere them inside her own journal. We are trading pages like this each month for 2020 and we will each make our own journal with the pages we receive. Fun? Absolutely! Want to get involved? • I don’t think I will ever get mine back either – they haven’t been seen or mentioned except once since July

  1. All of these pages were absolutely wonderful!! It would be so neat to get a journal like this! I wish I had time to these types of swaps. Something to look forward to when the kids are grown for sure!

    • yes, my kids are all gone from the house and I am retired so I have plenty of time for this and all the other things I try to cram into my day. hahaha!

  2. I continue to be intrigued by collage pages but I have to admit I have total fondness for tangled pages like those two examples you illustrate. It still puzzles me how to integrate the colour with the tangles but one day I’ll have a WHOLE day to myself just to experiment & find out!! And then I’ll go totally blank & wonder what to do with myself!

    • hahahaha! yep! I have done that myself. it’s like . . . do I actually know any tangles? hahahaha!

  3. I love those pages and the idea. I have never had success with trades either. Perhaps sending paste-ins so that you can complete your journal with them would be the best solution! I love your work including that darling shoe piece. You are making me want to try something else…and that does not make my creative budget or storrage happy! LOL!

    • hahahaha! I understand! my storage is a little out of control. it’s about time to re-organize. again.
