One more example of stacked, tangled, and lettered. I used another scrap of scrapbook paper to tangle this on. I really like the pink flower pops showing through the tangle design. An excellent use for all those bits of scrapbook paper I never use anymore. Love it! And the words – speak for themselves.

Using Lettering as a Layer

Tangled stacks and lettering. It just needs to be a layer in and of itself. That’s all it takes. Not superimposed over the top of what you tangled, but a layer all by itself. Tangled stacks with lettering. Now if we could just get everyone to understand that. Hahahahaha! This piece was drawn on scrapbook… Continue Reading

Stacking Circles

Lately it’s been all about the stacks. Stacks of tangles. In this case, it’s a stack of tangled circles. Now you know I love me some gorgeous colors, but I did not make this background myself. It came from this book. (I was going to tell you what page, but this awesome book doesn’t have… Continue Reading

Stacking in a Wreath

Here’s another stacked and tangled wreath. Thinking you might want to try one of these, but don’t know where to start? This is a photo of a wreath I posted last week. You can see the simple steps. I started with a plate and a bowl, which I traced for my strings. Then I just… Continue Reading

Those of you who are faithful in following my blog already know how devoted I am to Dylusions Ink Sprays. I didn’t think color could get any better. But. I was wrong! (Wow! There’s a trash can. Ever wondered what a tangled stack is? Here is the definition once again: rows of tangles that go in the same direction and touch. They may be vertical, diagonal, horizontal, circular, or semi-circular as long as they touch. There may be words in between the tangles. For this piece, I cut this page out of… Continue Reading

They may be vertical, diagonal, horizontal, circular, or semi-circular as long as they touch. There may be words in between the tangles. Grab something to tangle on. Just… Continue Reading

Disney Art-cation

Last week I spent a few days at the Walt Disney World complex in Orlando. Art-cationing actually. I’ve had more than a few people ask me why I spend time at Disney World just to make art. Well, let me show you. This is going to be a photo-heavy post. All shot with my cell… Continue Reading

Tangling the Opus

Recently the Zentangle® company released a 10 1/2″ tangling tile called the Opus. I’ve drawn on a couple with great results. This time I thought I’d combine the Opus with my first tangling/journaling love – Dylusions Ink Sprays.  Typically I wouldn’t leave the curled edges in the photo, I would crop them out before I… Continue Reading

Tangling in the Round

There is a wonderful tangle artist named Michele Beauchamp. She is also a CZT and I have followed her work online for two years now. Shelly lives in Australia and does the most exquisite linework. (You should go google her right now and look at images.) Recently she tangled a piece in the round and… Continue Reading
