Christmas in July

Fun swap this time. Every time. Hahahaha! All month long we are doing Christmas in July kind of swaps. This one was for two art journal pages. Let me show you what I made.

I started with a couple pages from More Tangle Starts. This particular one is a Gelli print.

And this is the second one I chose. Dylusions Ink Sprays, water and a heat gun for the color.

I started much like I usually do with inking the edges of the pages. For this one I chose the stormy sky Distress Oxide ink pad.

Do you love it? I do!

I decided on these elements. The Santas I chose are parts of collage sheets from Germany. Beautiful pieces with some texture.

The pieces all went through the sticker machine first. Then I trimmed away the white tabs.

Removing the sticker backing, I adhered the Santa first, then added my other elements.

To complete the page I added a bit of black ink here and there around the edges.

I needed to ink these edges as well. I think I picked the perfect color. Look at that cover and look at the color of my page underneath it. Perfect!

And after inking.

Placement of elements is always fun. Move this piece here and that piece there. Move until I like it. Hahaha!

Then adhere it all in place. And touch up those edges. And I love how they turned out! Christmas in July! It’s the best!

  1. I love the addition of the hare looking at Santa in the second one & it’s the blue elements that catch my eye in the first. The first one is particularly unusual with those colours & I like how you brought out the ‘blueness’ with your inking & that blue star.

    • thank you, that little hare was a last minute thought and I am so glad I added him. he just really finishes the page

    • quick and easy and it was something art-y I could actually do in this funk
