Zen-untangled! Week 19

We are rolling right along with the Zen-untangled! project where we are learning all 170 Zentangle patterns. As we learn, we are creating keepsake treasure books we can one day pass down to teach the art of the tangle to one of our loved ones! Here are my week 19 pages.

On each set of weekly pages, I am trying to include a piece of art from a friend. The background on these pages is actually a greeting card sent to me by dear friend Rachel Foster. The design carried over from the front to back of the card making it perfect to use on both the left and right pages. The step outs are on bits of scrapbook papers.

I used the remainder of Rachel’s card to make corners holding a gelli print from Beth Broadway in place. Hey, Beth, this is my last gel print! <3 The girl is a digital stamp I printed on card stock and colored with my Copic markers. Easy week this time. Some weeks are hard! Hahaha!

The snows are gone in Maine. And the moose are finally out and about. My neighbor sent me this photo – taken straight across the street from our mailbox. We have pictures of one of the moose on our stealth cameras at night, but Tiffany got to see these girls in the daytime.

And this was today when we woke up. It gets daylight here at 4:30 AM now. This was about 8 AM. That shoot down the middle is the run to the bear cave. Haven’t seen them out and about yet, but it could be any day now. It literally turns green here almost overnight. I guess it has to change quickly because before we know it there will be snow again. Got to enjoy our spring while we have it. Supposed to hit 80 degrees here today. Then back in the 60s tomorrow.

  1. Just love seeing your info about the tangles – that Rain is so interesting. It’s the first page that really catches my eye for the central tile really is such a focal point. Super the way your girl’s colouring picks up on the colours in the patterned paper. Wouldn’t like to come up close to one of those big animals. We have summer temperatures some days & not a lot of rain.

    • I love the moose, they are one of my favorite things about Maine. we enjoy having them show up in our yard. today Mark was looking at the cameras and we have had deer in the back yard – we just didn’t notice.

  2. How fantastic (and how scary) to have bears and moose wandering around in your neighborhood. I get excited when I see the occasional deer or raccoon.

  3. You’re winters are too long but I absolutely love the location

    • they are too long but worth it to be out of the heat in Florida. it is so beautiful up here. I hope people don’t get sick of looking at my photos

  4. Thanks for this Alice, sorry a day late in commenting but it starting to look really lovely where you are.

  5. HI ALICE – ANY CHANCE THERE MIGHT BE A FUTURE BOOK IN THE PROJECTS RELATING TO LEARNING AND USING THE 170 ZENTANGLE PATTERNS? I’M HOPING! STAY WELL. – EMILY

    • Haha! I’ve thought about it. Working on a new pattern book right now, but something like that is sitting in my brain.
