What a fun swap! Creative Crafty Friends is trading Alice in Wonderland ATCs! I even had someone else ask if we could trade – so I made two sets of cards. Even more Alice in Wonderland fun to be had! I was already working on Alice art, so this swap was easy. Once I found the time. Hahaha!
I began by scouring my digital art for images that fit the bill. And of course the Mad Hatter certainly does! I used my Copic markers for color. And I colored all over the place – like usual.
I actually had a couple Mad Hatters so I decided to use both. I had two sets to make, so one MH per set.
I made the Queen of Hearts for an earlier swap and it went over really well, so I made a Queen ala Helena Bonham Carter for each set.
I was making Alice art for something else and this has to be my favorite Alice stamp so far! So of course I made two for these swaps. All the pieces were colored with my Copic markers. I am going to take all these little color charts and put them in a journal together. I hope it will make things easier for me in the future.
From there I mostly forgot to take photos. Sorry. I chose some gelli print backgrounds that I thought would go well with my Queen of Hearts characters. I ran all six characters through the sticker machine and trimmed them out. Then it was easy to select backgrounds because I could try them out first. I used some dark purple Daler Rowney ink to make splatters. And I ordered a bottle of black ink to have on hand in the future.
I am really happy with how these turned out! I stamped the Queen’s saying using my small alphabet. Lastly I inked the edges of the ATC with a heather Dyestress ink pad. I used gold gelly roll pen on the crown and scepter, to which I added a press on jewel. Pretty straight forward ATC.
Here is the second. I guess I could have focused more on . . . . focus.
This is a bit better.
I chose alcohol ink backgrounds for these two Mad Hatters. An alcohol ink background that just happens to be part of a page I used in More Tangle Starts. Awesome! Just one more way you can use this book <3
The edges are inked with cattail Dyestress and the splatters were a little crazy but I like them.
Especially on this one. He just has that I don’t care kind of look. Hahahahaha! The edges on this one were inked with the heather Dyestress pad.
That left me with two of these guys. I used the same purple ink for the splatters on all six ATCs, but I swapped to scuba for the Dyestress inked edges on the Cheshire Cat ATCs. I love the color combination I came up with for the fur! This guy is my very favorite! Took me most of an afternoon to make these six ATCs and two lucky ladies are going to get to enjoy them. And in return I will get to enjoy some of their awesome Alice in Wonderland artworks. And when I do – you will get to enjoy them right here in a post. If we ever get the post notifications to work again. I am really banging my head on the table here and driving poor Christine crazy. I just know it. I am starting to think it has something to do with an update WordPress did recently. And the corona virus has my mail service in Italy tied in knots. I just hope someone sees these posts. Some day. Yep.
