A couple days ago I showed you the first Letter S ATC I made for a swap, today I want to show you the second. We work in sets of twos, which means I need two ideas for each letter we do. As I stand here and stare out my studio window I see snow, snow, and more snow. I figured that was a good enough reason to choose snow for my second letter S.
I already had an idea in mind of where I wanted to go with this, so I started by digging through my increasingly short stack of gelli prints for this one. I thought I could make it work for snow and began to cut it down to the right size. ATCs are 2.5″ x 3.5″ – small enough for a quick piece of artwork. I kept the upper left portion and stuffed the rest back in the drawer.
These were the other things I had in mind. Not very many things needed when the space is this small. But look at that little guy! Isn’t he adorable?
I’ve told you about Barb’s collage sheets before. Joggles. com has a bunch of collage pages that come like this one. And there is my little penguin right in the middle. I took my sheet and cut around him so I could run him through the sticker machine. Hahahahahaha!
I began by using this Scuba ink pad from ColorBox to ink the edges of the ATC.
Typically I also scrub some color over the ATC surface. That way when I mess up and get color on the ATC itself – it looks like I meant to!
I am not going to be able to tell you where these stickers came from. They are leftovers from scrapbooking days – years ago. They are no longer in a package – what you see is what I have. And a little strip of those snowflakes were perfect for this piece.
I trimmed the excess away from the top and inked these edges as well, adding a little scuff here and there.
I trimmed away the excess white around my little guy and peeled the paper backing away. This literally made him become a sticker which I then put into place. Oh yeah, scuff here and scuff there, too.
The addition of some bling and some words finished this ATC. Barb’s collage sheets make quick work for ATCs. They also work great in my art journals. I am even using them in Zen-untangled! Yep! I am!
