Yes, I know Christmas was a couple days ago. Hahahaha! I have just finished taking down the trees and putting all the decorations into their boxes and into the closet. You should see my upstairs clothes closet! I am the Queen of Packing Stuff! Even I impressed myself! Hahahahahaha!
I really like these trees I got at Hobby Lobby a few years ago – the day after Christmas when they are seriously reduced in price! They are covered with snow and pinecones and red berries. They are really beautiful even without any ornaments.
I was so excited when we moved to Maine and we bought a tall house. That meant I could have a tall tree! Hahahaha! As it is we have to get on a ladder to decorate the top part of the tree. We have a 28′ cathedral ceiling, I could probably go taller with a tree except for the cost. I think I will just continue to enjoy these.
We had a great Christmas! On Christmas Eve, Jason and Bobbie and the Frankles came over for some delicious ham that Mark cooked. He has been using that instant pot and cooking up a storm lately.
The Frankles made the cutest little reindeer ever!
Those Minecraft Legos were a hit!
As was the purple Pokemon plushie whose name I do not remember. Hahahaha! She would be so disappointed in me.
And look at what Jason drew for me!!!! Baby Yoda!!! I almost cried when I opened it! Not even kidding!
Christmas morning Belle got a special bone which she promptly lost. Or she ate it without us knowing – either way it is gone. Mark and I opened a couple presents but mostly our gift to each other was our trip to Florida last week.
And that evening we got to face-time with Kali and Shane out in Colorado. Kali spent Christmas with Shane and his family and had a great time. We are so thankful for them to include her. Then they opened the gifts we sent them while we face-timed so we could watch. And explain what some of them were – like the local grown and spun alpaca wool we sent to Kali and the hand made wooden Elk puzzle we sent Shane that a friend here in Maine made. Local items were the big hit this year. Those and the Beauxbatons Academy carriage Lego set! Kali built that right away and texted me photos.
Lots of details!
It came with Hagrid, Madame Maxime, and Fleur and Gabrielle Delacour. Check out those flying horses!
And the carriage opens. Pretty cool! Kali has a lot of Harry Potter Lego sets. She collects them so this was the perfect gift for her. Of course we remembered that Christmas is not about the giving. It is about the gift we have already received in the form of Jesus Christ. And for the gift of forgiveness and salvation – we are truly thankful. Merry Christmas!
