Week 6 is Done √

Hard to believe it but I have now completed six weeks of The 100 Day Project. It seems to be going by quicker this year than last. We are almost half way through.

As you know – if you’ve been following my posts – I am using the YouTangle.art Tiles from Hahnemühle for the entire 100 days. And I’m drawing with the Zensations Technical Drawing Pens from Zebra Pen every day. I am an Artist Ambassador for Zebra and they donated the pens I’m using. I also do product reviews for Hahnemühle, Carol graciously donated the tiles I am using for the project. Day 36 was a basic straight up tangled tile. All black and white with no representation of anything particular. The tangles I used are crescent moon, barquillos, printemps and flying geese.

Day 37 was fun to tangle. I’m not sure if this is an already named and claimed pattern or not. I started with a mooka and just added auras off both sides until they connected at the bottom. Easy peasy! The color on this tile came from distress oxide inks that I rubbed on a craft mat, sprayed with water and basically turned them into a watercolor, then rubbed my tile in the color. Fun and fast!

The color in Day 38 comes from distress ink – which is a little different from the oxides. I used ink pads of spun sugar and seedless preserves and rubbed them in circles on the tile. I love these two colors together! The tangle is punzel – it’s one of the Zentangle® patterns and I added auras feathering down the sides.

For Day 39 I went back to basic black tangling on the white tile. Jetties, abukas and one I’m calling loop screen. Lots of fun and it came together quickly – which is about the only way this 100 day is going to continue to happen. Hahahaha! I have so many projects I am working on at the same time.

The colors in Day 40 came from Jane Davenport’s Inkredible Inks. They are so easy to turn into watercolor and make beautiful – and fast – backgrounds. For tangling I was playing with tangleations of loop screen.

Day 41 has to be my favorite tile so far! Those beautiful colors are Daler Rowney Acrylic Inks. I dropped them onto my craft mat and just smooshed the tile around in the beautiful color! The tangle is a new one from Jody Genovese called TunnelVizion. So much fun!

And that brings us to Day 42. The end of week 6. I used the distress oxide ink pads for the color. I used them like a watercolor and I added some printemps in white gel pen over those purple areas and blox everywhere else. So much fun and easy to draw! Shading makes this piece pop.

Week 7 has started and I haven’t done the first thing for it. I think I’m two days behind already. I’m working hard on a new book and right now it is getting priority. When I get tired of working on the book I tangle a tile. When I get 7 more done I will show you another week.
