The 100 Day Project Approaches

She read that title and ran screaming from the room! “NOOOOOOO!!!!!! Not The 100 Day Project again!!!!!” Yep! It is that time again.

Collage created using TurboCollage software from www.TurboCollage.com

Hahahaha! Actually I participated in The 100 Day Project last year and I swore I would never do it again. The project lasts – 100 days – and you commit to making a piece of art each day, for 100 days. It doesn’t have to be art. You could commit to eating one donut every day for 100 days, or to run one mile every day for 100 days, or complete a jigsaw puzzle every day for 100 days. Any project that gets you and your beautiful brain in sync and doing something positive. I guess that cancels out the donuts. No fair. For me that means art. Last year I opened this project up to my Facebook group – Tangle All Around – and invited them to participate along with me. It was really hard. As in mega hard. The first 20, 30, 40 days went ok, then life happened. Life has a way of being a real buzzkill at times. And that’s ok. The thought is if you miss a day – don’t beat yourself up over it. Jump back in the next day and move forward. At the end I made a collage through Turbo Collage showing all 100 pieces I did for the challenge.

On day #101 I made this piece of digital art that I shared in my group. Hahahaha! Several people shared it to their own walls and posted photos of their artwork with it. I really felt like I should have had shirts made to hand out in the group. Well they want to do it again this year. Shaking my head. Do they understand the commitment this is??? Oh well, it is my group. What am I going to say? Hahahahahaha! I am going to jump on this puppy (not a literal puppy) with both feet and go for it. Last year I used a Baby Leda Pocket Sketchbook and it worked very well. This year, I think I am going to use YouTangle.art Tiles from Hahnemühle. They will be perfect for this project. And at the end I am going to get Robin Mead to help me make a glued book of them as a memento. And I am totally going to print out the new I Survived poster to be the last page. Hahahaha! Want to see a video of my last year’s post? There is no sound because I was a newbie video-er and didn’t know how to do that. Still don’t but I have a better idea now.

The 100 Day Project starts this Tuesday, April 2nd. You don’t have to do anything special to get involved. I’ll leave you with a few links and my video.

  1. You are a braver soul than I! No way I’d take on something like this. It’s bad enough doing one of the monthly challenges. Maybe you should make your theme sharing 100 Days of older work, lol. That would make the whole thing a lot easier!

    • you are the sane one. because this is an unrealistic goal but one I will take with those who want to. mostly because I have to. hahahaha!

  2. Mind how you go Alice – you have enough already on your plate. I reckon your daily blog posts count! I shall be cheering from here but realistically know that I cannot do this yet, someday maybe. Thinking of you.

    • I’m not sure I can do it this year either. going to do the days I can and be a cheerleader for the group. do you have cheerleaders in your country? hmmmm. never thought about that.

      • Yes I think so, well I’m familiar with the term, however I’m such a hybrid of all kinds of terminology, R raises eyebrows & wonders at my American pronunciation ………. well I did watch US cartoons when learning English & my Dad spoke English with a US accent as he learnt it by watching Westerns, he’d learnt German & not English as his second language (being educated in Sweden as he was).
