Color tangling is just about my favorite art thing to do! Like ever! Color, color, and more color is what I really love about art! Let me show you how I made this color fantasy you see below with a YouTangle.art Tile from Hahnemühle and some acrylic inks from Daler Rowney and Liquitex!
In my studio I have this great creation called a craft sheet! I got mine from Joggles where you can buy it by the foot. I have a couple 6 foot sections I use all the time. The really cool thing about craft sheets is . . . color doesn’t stay on them forever. You can clean the color off with a wet cloth, or my preference is a baby wipe. To make this tile I drizzled three colors of acrylic ink straight onto the craft sheet. From Daler Rowney I used Fluorescent Pink and Fluorescent Yellow. From Liquitex I used Dioxazine Purple. All acrylic inks.
I lifted the tile and placed it down at a different angle onto the color. And just kind of squished it back and forth and around.
When I flipped the YouTangle tile over, this is what I had. Beautiful color on the tile and beautiful residual color on the craft sheet. I used that leftover color by scrubbing another tile through the color.
Then I just set the tile aside overnight to dry. Mostly because I started this at 11:00 PM. Hahahaha! I do love the color. It softened a little when it dried and I think it is wonderful.
I made a whole stack of these tiles and next I am going to tangle on them. Want to be sure you don’t miss a post?
